I had forgot to ask for this the first time around. Since file names
won't always match song titles, I think this would be really
helpful, for those wanting to identify the music the listener is
listening to.

There is a way to create methods for a flash object where you can
create the object in the webpage, and then attach actions inside the
SWF file with Javascript actions. So, for example, we might have:

<script type="text/javascript">
playerFile = "http://www.mcmediaplayer.com/public/mcmp_0.7.swf";
objName = "DaPlaya";
</script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.mcmediaplayer.com/public/mcmp_0.7.js"></script>
<!-- / MC Media Player -->

then, when some button is clicked, you could do:

DaPlaya=document.getElementById("DaPlaya");
DaPlaya.SetFileURL("Some Song.flv");
DaPlaya.Play();

I think this will help people integrate the player into web pages more
easily, without having to do text replacement. Well, I'm outta
new feature ideas for the time being, but I hope it is evident that
I haven't been making up stuff to do, but have directed
suggestions, at least thus far, to things that hopefully will improve
the player on a core level. I feel like then it might be ready for
general use. IMHO, that is.

Great work on the player. I hope they keep it free. Seems like it would
make a fine web traffic getter for the college. At the risk of
sounding redundant, thanks again. :P

Sincerely,
Zathras

On behalf of my church, I'm selling the following two video mixers: Panasonic WJ-MX30 and a Panasonic WJ-MX50. Yet, the catch is that both are sort of broken. The Panasonic WJ-MX30 doesn't fully function and I think it's because it overheats easily. I would have to open the cover to make it work, but after a while, it doesn't even work properly. It turns on, but after a few moments, it stalls and eveything you see on the screen turns fuzzy green, even when I fade between the different channels/sources. The Panasonic WJ-MX50, on the otherhand, functions properly except that the colors don't work on Channel B (Source 1, 2, 3, 4, Matte). When I mix, the bottom channel (B) turn out black and white, while the top channel (A) turn out to work fine with colors. Other than that, there seems to be no other problems.

I'm wondering if you can help me determine what a reasonable price (range) would be for each broken video mixer so I can sell it on ebay. So what are your thoughts?

I'm relatively new to digital camera technology and photography in general, and am currently dabbling as a hobby. My primary project types at this time are people & "portrait" style, and "still-life" like interesting buildings, fauna (macro), etc. I want to get an SLR package, and I know that there is no way I can make an informed decision with my limited experience - I don't know enough detail on anything to make sense of my research. So I want to ask an expert - please give me your recommendations. I know I should basically buy a name brand, and spend the most I possibly can to have quality equipment. So what would be in the $1000 to $1500 range for body, best all-purpose lens (if there is such a thing) or the two "must have" lenses, and flash? For example, I found a Canon EOS 40D body for $550 & Canon 580EX II Speedlite Flash for $380, and Canon Canon Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Image Stabilizer USM Lens for $240, & Canon 50mm f/2.5 EF Macro Autofocus Lens - would make total for body, flash & 2 lenses near top of my range at $1410. And no, I don't have lots of money - I'm spending more than I should because I want to, so I want to get the best I can. Please help with your recommendations!

Hi all, well just to update everyone on what I am doing in terms of live sound, I am now running the big mixer in the main part of the church. This is the really really really really really really crappy Yamaha mixer I told yall about, also the one with the channel that likes to give us hell. Anyways, I need yalls advice on something. On Sunday mornings, we sing, (duh?) And the director sings on a headset mic. Now we have cwier mics set up for the cwier, and heres my question. The directors mic is on one side of the mixer, and the 3 cwier mics are on the other. I have had to move really fast to get all 4 mics going, I have about 3 seconds to do it all. I was wondering if there is any kind of tecneeck for this kind of thing.
Any advice would be helpful. I look forward to hearing from you!

Truly, it is urgent, can you help me?
I have lots of videos waiting for conversion to FLV. The converted FLV will be used for my teaching activity. Someone kindly recommended me the Moyea Flash Video MX. Its batch encoder saved me lots of time and energy because it can convert many video in one time; however, it is shareware and need to pay some money. But money is tight for me and I had to seek freeware, does anyone here know some other free program can work similar to Moyea Flash Video MX?

I need it badly, and your suggestion will be greatly appreciated!
Millions of thanks!
I am now trying to play with how the folders tree looks like. I am hoping to have it by default showing the top folders and subfolders. Right now, since I have one of the pictures on the welcome page, it shows the folder and subfolder leading to that picture. I am hoping to have it look like that once you enter acl.mit.edu/mediaroom:

Okay, new here, but have been poking around and googling without much luck so far. Anyone know of a plugin or anything that would paste the filename of an image into the actual image itself in a batch job? Would save doing multiple runs with the logo tools in Virtualdub. Just for my security camera - it's set for motion cap so there are big gaps between the image time & date stamps. The software names the files with the time/date stamp - I just want to be able to run a batch and have them appear on the images themselves before I compile the daily video. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Motion sensing software - grabMotion 1.0
Videos compiled in virtualdub with a logo plugin
Have Paintshop Pro 7 (my ex didn't want it anymore - no sense wasting it)

Would be of great assistance when it comes to proving to the police just when certain things were done around here (had problems with neighbours setting things on fire in my front yard and generally being jerks)

Hi All
I usually post in the Video Forum but I currently have a web problem.
I did a website for a client with a little expandable Javascript Menu that shows 2 submenu levels. (This actually is included with Namo Web Editor 6) It works fine BUT the client wants to change the operation as follows.

If you expand the menu to say, access, a sub-menu and then click to go to another page, he wants the whole menu to stay expanded so the user can, have quick access to all the sub menus until they close the sub menus. My current one compresses everything to level one the moment you link an item!!

Anyone know of a Javascript expandable menu that will NOT close up after you click a link

Many thanks

MC Altair v0.7 has been released. See the technical details and download the files here or use the updated setup tool.

What's new

This upgrade addresses problems with the player interface when resizing or repositioning elements, including fullscreen mode. All player elements (buttons, video screen, etc) now use the same coordinate system for positioning. Previously, elements in the control panel were positioned relative to the top left corner of the control panel - now they are positioned relative to the top left corner of the player.

Tooltip readability is improved and you can set the color.

This version involved a fairly major code re-write so it's quite possible a few bugs will emerge. There is also more work to be done with the new coordinate system before it's all working completely as I want, but I thought it was important to introduce the new system as soon as possible. If you're in no hurry to upgrade you might like to wait and see if there any any minor updates over the next few weeks.

There are three new variables:

tooltipTextColor: Tooltip text color (hex)
tooltipBackgroundColor: Tooltip background color (hex)
playerAutoResize: This is enabled by default and should normally be left on. The player automatically resizes and/or repositions elements when resizing occurs, unless you have specified a position/size value.

Roadmap to v1.0

Once I've got the new coordinate system bedded in, here are some of my plans leading up to v1.0:

- Color and size variables for all remaining elements
- Separate config options for fullscreen mode
- Logo/watermark option
- Improved integration with streaming servers
- More user-friendly setup tool, including a simple 3-step guide.

If I turn the channel off and on, sometimes it will fix it, and sometimes not. I have one channel that will not work. What is going on?
Anything would be helpfull.
