Hey everyone,

Truly, it is urgent, can you help me?

I have lots of videos waiting for conversion to FLV. The converted FLV will be used for my teaching activity. Someone kindly recommended me the Moyea Flash Video MX. Its batch encoder saved me lots of time and energy because it can convert many video in one time; however, it is shareware and need to pay some money. But money is tight for me and I had to seek freeware, does anyone here know some other free program can work similar to Moyea Flash Video MX?

I need it badly, and your suggestion will be greatly appreciated!
Millions of thanks!

Adds:i am use acer 4620 ,so the os is vista home basic, any one can help me?

Here's the situation: I have a sort of "press junket" thing coming up. We plan to do a live video stream of several people off and on over about three days. The problem is that we don't know exactly when they will be there, so I'd like to set up a short "coming soon" video that will loop when there isn't actually anything streaming and then switch over to the live stream when the publishing point activates. That way, if there's nothing going on, users get the "coming soon" message instead of an error message. Is there a way to do this? If so, how do I do it?

I'm using Windows Media Services 9, and generally we set up an ASX file to point to the publishing point.

Thanks (in advance) for all your help.

Sup guys

I'm just trying to get some advice on a few things having to do with me being able to stream video.

I am in the tarantula hobby and I have a website that I want to stream a 24-7 feed of the tarantula.

I need a HD camcorder that's going to give me enough screen res so that any viewers can get a really good look. It has to work well in low lighting and I would like to be able to zoom in so that I can get close ups of feeding.

If any of you can recommend me some camera's to look into that would be great! I really don't know much about them. I want get one that meets my needs and isn't very expensive.

What screen res do I need to stream? Does that effect what screen res the camera has?

Any advice at all on the equipment I will need will be very helpful.

Thanks so much

I think my host my offers quicktime and real streaming. I know that HTTP streaming is the easiest for both the webmaster and webmaster and the end-user alike. I also know that they are easier to steal than stream server videos. However tools make stealing those streams just as easy. Are there any other advantages to using a stream server? I want to user not to have to install any extra software that they might not have out of the box So I'd prefer not to use a stream server. I also want the best quality possible What are your opinions?
Thanks.

Hi

I am new to video streaming and was wondering what you would recommend for the following situation:

- I need to stream I high quality VMW files to many types of OSes and browsers.

-These are instructional videos, so they need to be clear.

- I plan on using WMV 9 and the <embed> tag to do this. I just do not know what rez or bitrate to use.

- I have a 5 TB / month bandwidth allowance, but will have many videos, maybe 50+. However, I don't expect many hits :P

- The videos need too look great embedded as well in full screen and yet buffer quickly.

- Audio is less important, but still needs to be clear. (96kbs)?

- These will be trans coded from a HD camera.

- What should I give for the embed tag values so that the video may fit nice on a standard display?

Also, can you recommend the same settings (both encoding and embed) for dial up users?

Honestly, I'd like to use a flash player (flv), but the only free one that i know of (Flow Player) is now GPL 3) and I don't want to link to their site as this will will be a series professional sites and I dont want to buy a multi-site license. Also, I want the videos to be playable out-of-the-box for most users, so I can't really use mov or rm. So I guess I'm stuck with WMV.

Thanks.

(because Im featured in one!)

There is a download link but if you click it and do "save as" you will download a file too small to be the actual video and if you try to play it the media player will say "unable to render".

I posted on their forum and they're not interested in a remedy.

So I'd like to download one of these videos but all the web based tools I have tried require the actual address of the video. I know the address is not the one they show because that address downloads the nonsense file and I can't determine how to find the actual address, I a bit of a newb here, can anyone help? Thanks.
